The Rwanda Veteran Basketball League is back for 2026/2027. Seven teams, Sunday games at LDK, and every club chasing champions Imitali.
The Rwanda Veteran Basketball League (VBL) returns for its second season on Sunday 8 November 2026, and the bar has never been higher. Season one ended with Imitali BBC lifting the trophy, crowning a campaign that showed what veteran basketball in Rwanda can be: competitive, disciplined and played with real pride. The league gives former players and lifelong lovers of the game a home every week. Now it goes into its second year with a bigger audience and more at stake.
Seven teams will compete in the 2026/2027 season: Imitali, Gikondo, Green Stars, Kagoma, Chaos, K Bulls and SOS Family. All games are on Sundays at LDK, with tip-offs at 10:00, 12:00 and 14:00. The defending champions open the season against Gikondo at 10:00 on opening day, followed by Green Stars against Kagoma at 12:00 and Chaos against K Bulls at 14:00. After the regular season, the top four teams go to the playoffs from 10 January 2027. The semi-finals and the Final are best-of-three series, so the champion will have to earn it twice. The season wraps up in February 2027.
